Hagar Is Home Safe
2011
Before Hagar went off to war, I interviewed him.
You can watch that interview here:
And now he’s back – I interviewed him again.
You can watch this interview here:
I think it’s interesting if you can find the time to watch them both because the tone is very different. The decompression of detachments, the away time, the return time and the whole notion of being married to the MOB can be summed up by these interviews.
War is stressful and it changes people. You can hear and see the change here. I am glad Hagar is home safe because I can breathe again. I held my breathe when he went and I didn’t exhale until returned. Well, that’s what it felt like anyway. You can draw your own conclusions.

Oh honey, I’m so pleased for you. It’s amazing what you and your family have to go through as a matter of routine. Just because I’m rubbish at phoning, doesn’t in any mean I’m not thinking about you xxx
Ha ha!! Yes – forever friends my dear and indeed ditto xxx

The difference is palpable. Even to a stranger, an outsider like me. I’m happy for all of you that I Hagar got home safe.
Thanks Steve – good use of the word ‘palpable’! It’s all calming down….
Wow. Kinda mindblowing to think he goes off to do what you describe in “Immediate Response”. No wonder you hold your breath.
Glad he is safe and sound and you are all well. Your new house looks lovely.
Dig the fire – is it that cold already in England?
(In the US – back early Oct). x
Chillier inside then it is out sometimes!! Thanks hun. Have fun in the US. xx
Congrats to you both: Hagar for a job well done, and Claire for her work on the homefront w/kids. Both equally important!
Glad for you that he is home, what a thing you both have to go through. Enjoy each other.
Really enjoyed watching both these videos, you’re lucky my husband would never agree to be interviewed by me (even when he was Media Ops and I was working for BFBS!) Interesting to hear Hagar’s comments on decompression. We’ve just finished a Cyprus posting and his is a pretty typical response to the facilities. My husband is off to Afghan at the end of October… hopefully doing a nice safe desk job….
Hello, thanks for the comment. I know it’s rare to get an interview out of them. But it’s been so worth it. Good luck to your OH. Hagar’s originally from the highlands too just BTW. Love hot – Cyprus would be good. Ironic that it’s the golden posting nowadays
not surprised he cheated. you gap toothed minger
