Med Paint By Numbers Artist Set Review
2011
I have been sharing the toy love around a bit this year. The Med Paint by numbers set was too intricate for my kids. The Grenade is hyper mobile and would not have the finger strength to be able to handle the detail, I therefore persuaded my friend, who had a 9 year old daughter to pick up the mantle.
Here is their virgin review:
“Painting by Numbers came with three pictures, which were attractive and appealing to the female Gender. Cute animals and fluffy clouds. There were quite a few very small paint pots which had the same colours in three of the pots. This was not great from a environmental perspective as these pots also were plastic. Maybe the more popular colours, could have been put in to larger pots. The instructions were clear and easy to follow for my 9 year old daughter and she started the picture of a horse with great enthusiasm. While the frame to paint the pictures on looked impressive, it was totally impractical and we put it to one side after attempting to paint on it 3 times. 30 Minutes later, and she had managed to paint quarter of the horse and the clouds. Unless your child has extreme OCD, it is very unlikely they will finish this picture in enough time to receive positive re-inforcement. There are too many numbers and it is too intricate. Some of the numbers are also so small they are hard to read. If you have a lively boy, just take it out of the box and use the box for building something. My eldest daughter who has no patience looked at it and said “you don’t really expect me to paint all of that do you?
Esme and I gave it 5/10 for the pretty picture.”
