Terra Natura, Murcia
The region’s biggest waterpark makes a change from the beach. Set up for speed and sliding, Terra Natura’s giant slides and chutes are combined with vast, sparkling pools and long, calming lazy rivers. Fun splash-around play areas are bright and colourful for under 5s. Whereas the cheerful, family-friendly chiringuitos give a beachy feel.
The park’s eco zoo is rich with natural habitats and kids can track the keepers, participate at feeding times, learn about the wild residents and even hang out after-hours with a Night Safari. There are falconry displays, with graceful birds of prey soaring in a blue summer sky.

Dolphins, hiking and kayaking weekend, Mazarrón
Mazarrón is a scenic Costa Cálida seaside resort with big, sandy beaches and yacht-stuffed harbours. It’s historical roots stretch right back to prehistory with links to Phoenicians and ancient Romans. Amble round the historic quarter’s and journey through centuries of Mediterranean architecture. The lively waterfront is dotted with folklore and legend in between the bijou cafés and seafood restaurants.
In addition this is where you can set sail for the weekend on a traditional schooner, spend days spotting dolphins, learning to sea kayak and hiking along the dramatic and lovely Murcia coastline. The friendly crew includes a marine biologist to respond to all questions about the sea life and Mediterranean.
