Things to do:

Terra Natura, Murcia

The region’s biggest waterpark makes a change from the beach. Set up for speed and sliding, Terra Natura’s giant slides and chutes are combined with vast, sparkling pools and long, calming lazy rivers. Fun splash-around play areas are bright and colourful for under 5s. Whereas the cheerful, family-friendly chiringuitos give a beachy feel.

The park’s eco zoo is rich with natural habitats and kids can track the keepers, participate at feeding times, learn about the wild residents and even hang out after-hours with a Night Safari. There are falconry displays, with graceful birds of prey soaring in a blue summer sky.

Where: Espinardo, 10 minutes north of Murcia city centre.

When: April to September, 10am to 7pm
